MAKING OF DESIGN 1

My first garment is a loose fitted flowy dress made from used denim clothing for the top part of the dress. It is made with kimono sleeves and gives the effect of a round geometric shape. The lower part of the dress is stitched with rectangular pieces of light weight Tencel (giving the look of light weight denim). It is put together giving it a flowing asymmetrical look.

Fabric manipulation used is by patching denim pieces together in the required pattern. The top part of the dress is emphasized with bead/metal/mirror work in different colours adding colour to the garment. Ruffles are place in a spiral effect giving texture and design lines to the garment. The lower part of the dress is draped with different lengths of rectangular pieces of fabric.

The garment is given a bold, intense look with texture and emphasized with intricate bead/metal/mirror work.
